Released as a new colorway in the first retro run of the Air Jordan 8 in 2003 . the ‘Chrome’ colorway is best known for its on-court appearance by Kobe Bryant during the 2003 NBA playoffs when he threw down one of the most vicious dunks of all time. The Air Jordan 8 ‘Chrome’ was retroed in 2015 as part of Nike’s Holiday 2015 collection that included two other Air Jordan 8 colorways — the OG ‘Aqua’ and ‘Three Times A Charm’. The Air Jordan 8 ‘Chrome’ features an all-black upper in smooth and perforated nubuck . and gets it ‘chrome’ name due to the chrome detailing on the buckle of the strap.
